Jinder Mahal recently earned a shot against Seth freakin Rollins at next week’s Raw. Given that he’s been absent from the main roster for years, the push has been subject to a lot of discussion lately.
Going with the traditional WWE-AEW rivalry, One of the random people on the internet even compared his push to that of Tony Khan’s handing AEW female star Abandon a title shot. That said, Khan himself came up to dismiss this claim outright.
Abandon had been sidelined with an injury for nearly a year and was back in the lore ahead of AEW Dynamite. Shortly after, AEW boss rushed to get her a massive push, just like WWE did to Mahal.
When Eric Bischoff shared the comparison post, asking Khan if that was the case, the AEW head honcho lambasted WWE’s booking style, saying, ”No
@EBischoff, not true at all.
Abadon returned to AEW + then they won a 4-way match on TNT against other great wrestlers to earn a title shot, which is completely different than someone going a full year losing every match they’re in + getting a title shot without a single win.”

Khan defending his booking only depicts the typical air of competition prevailing between the two giant promotions.
