UFC Hall-of-Famer Gives Mike Tyson a Reality Check for Viral Training Clip – “Pads Don’t Hit Back”

What might be better news for fight fans than witnessing the comeback of the greatest of all time? Mike Tyson is about to make a comeback to the boxing arena after being away from it for years, and this time he is up against the Youtuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul. Their clash is scheduled to happen on July 20. Nonetheless, many people in the fight world think that Tyson would decimate Paul, but the ‘Count’ has another opinion on it.

The significant age ͏gap of nearly 30 years between the fighters might ͏impact their performance. However, Mike Tyson has come forward to showcase his skills by uploading his training videos. Michael Bisping has expressed some different thoughts about the former boxing champion. Let’s take a look at what the ͏former middleweight champion had to say ͏about the sparring videos.

Michael Bisping gave a reality check to Mike Tyson ahead of his clash

Mike Tyson is one of the biggest names in the history of boxing. However, the former boxing champion is way past his prime. At the age of 57, Tyson last fought against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. Despite giving it their all, Tyson and Jones had to shake hands as their match ended in a draw. Fast forward to 2024, and ‘Iron Mike’ is on the verge of clashing against Jake Paul.

Is the former boxing champ truly ready for the fight? Tyson consistently uploads his sparring videos, and from the looks of it, ͏he seems more prepared than ever. But what’s the reality ͏behind it? According to former middleweight champ of the UFC, Michael Bisping Tyson might be one of the best in the world, but his age might be catching up to him. While having a conversation on his YouTube channel, Bisping gave his reasoning behind his doubts about the boxing champ.

“Yes, we’re seeing clips of Mike Tyson, little short clips with the legendary coach Rafael Cordeiro, 15-20 seconds long, on Instagram. He’s looking like a killer; he’s looking like a machine, but pads don’t hit back, okay? And we’re just seeing the Instagram version. Today they had the press conference; they squared up, they got in each other’s faces, but it was a cordial, friendly affair.” said Bisping.

Mike Tyson might be one of the best in the world, but when age catches up, even the best fighters crumble, and fighting against a young fighter, even if he is a newbie, might prove to be a bit harsh. Nonetheless, the fight is happening, and along with Bisping, former UFC fighter and former flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson is also concerned about Tyson.

Demetrious Johnson has his concern for Tyson

Boxing is a harsh sport that is brutal, and it could be life-threatening if you don’t understand when to give up. Mike Tyson’s decision to fight Jake Paul may be a good or bad decision for him, according to former UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson. While analyzing the fight footage of Tyson’s last bout against Roy Jones Jr. on his YouTube handle, Johnson found that unfortunately, age has caught up with the boxing giant.

“The thing that would be interesting when Mike Tyson fights Jake Paul is what happens when Jake Paul hits Mike Tyson. Right, like what happens when he hits him. Will his brain be able to take it, and will his chin be able to last? That is what it is going to come down to at the end. Skill-wise, Mike Tyson is obviously better. The way he moves the angles, the shots that he is hitting are way better,” said Johnson.

According to fight fans, Tyson will be knocking out Paul, but reality can be much different from illusion. Nonetheless, what is your opinion on their clash? Do you think Tyson would emerge victorious? State your thoughts in the comments below.
