The 2024 French Open ended on a disastrous note for Novak Djokovic. The Serb withdrew from the tournament before his quarterfinal match against Casper Ruud due to a knee injury, later undergoing surgery to repair the torn meniscus. Despite being a doubtful starter for the Wimbledon Championships, the Serb made a comeback in style and has reached the finals of the tournament, once again against his young Spanish rival. However, during the course of the tournament, Djokovic was spotted wearing a grey-colored knee brace.
Djokovic’s finals against Carlos Alcaraz is currently underway and he was also seen wearing that brace in this match. The Serb has been advised to put on this protective gear to strengthen that part of the body and ensure that he doesn’t put a lot of strain on it. Djokovic has had little time to recover from his injury and that brace has aided him well in this regard.
However, one notable observation is that the knee brace put on by Djokovic is grey and it violates the Wimbledon dress code. But Djokovic took to permission to put that brace on and he was allowed to use it. During the press conference, he revealed, “I saw Frances Tiafoe play, and he had black sleeves. Grey, maybe better, leaning a little towards white. I know it’s not ideal. I like to wear all white, and I like to respect the rules. But I got the permission.I told them we would do our best to respect them in the next match.”

This is a developing story…
