4-Star Colorado Commit Laughs at Report of Head Coach Gus Malzahn Resigning From UCF for Florida State OC Role

How bad does it have to be to call it quits and say, “You know what? I’m going to the other team.” Man, UCF just ain’t having it this year. The Knights end the season with a disappointing 4-8 run, and it’s kind of wild when you think about it because Gus Malzahn probably had one of the strongest run games in the country. This entire KJ Jefferson and RJ Harvey pairing is dangerous and can easily bring in points for the Knights. So what even happened? Think about it: it’s not like UCF had a tough schedule, and Gus Malzahn had a lot on his shoulders. You know the worst part about all of this? This entire 4-8 reminds us of another team that was standing on this exact fate last season.

Now, it is hilarious that the team we talked about right now, a 4-star commit from there, is now laughing at what Gus Malzahn has decided to do. Buffs commit Christian Hudson took to his Instagram story to share the latest report of Malzahn resigning from UCF with the caption; “Wow”. This entire situation is hilarious. The season affected the HC so badly that he decided to de-rank himself and take the offensive coordinator post at the Seminoles.

You know what’s worse? The fact that the Seminoles have done WORSE than UCF this season. Dude, Mike Norvell and Co. are 2-9 this year. Imagine that. Now will this Malzahn hiring do anything good for Florida State?

Well, from the play calling and the decision-making we saw him do with the Knights, it doesn’t look like Florida State will gain a lot from this hiring. Malzahn will be taking Norvell’s job of play calling from the 2025 season and we will have to wait and watch how it pans out.

Now the question is, why did Malzahn decide to do this? Well, short and simple answer: he was going to be on a hot seat in 2025. It was either “get fired” or “resign,” and he chose the smart way out of this mess. Another thing we would love to point out is that with the season ending, there is a high chance that Norvell could end up losing his job as well. He has done pretty much nothing this season and we might end up seeing a familiar coach at the HC spot on the Seminoles.

Another Colorado Buffs connection

Okay, this might sound like some wild fan theory so put on your tin foil hats. Deion Sanders. The Buffs are on a 9-win season and no one out there could’ve thought that this was possible. After the entire 4-8 fiasco last year, people were quick to label Deion Sanders and Co. as a “playing for click” team.

Now see, one of the BIGGEST Coach Prime hater, Paul Finebaum, changed his perspective about Deion. Finebaum agreed that he was wrong to call Deion Sanders “Hollywood” but he also suggested another idea.

“Deion couldn’t even get a call from Florida State a couple of years ago. But to be fair, what had he done then? Right, he’s now one of the hottest coaches in the country,” Finebaum mentioned back on ESPN. Now is this a good idea?

Well, if Coach Prime manages to bring in the same magic for the Seminoles then yes it could work but this is just a theory. See, for Deion Sanders to work and show his full potential, you have to hand him over the entire program, and pretty sure Florida State won’t do that. Colorado had faith and that paid off with a $100 million jackpot.
