It is a testing time in Miami. The Jimmy Butler drama doesn’t seem to have an end to it and controversies are only spreading rapidly. His 7-game suspension that caused a $2.3 million loss, will come to an end next week. But will he be a part of Miami? Even if he stays then for how long?
Looking beyond the city’s rage-filled pushback, some reasoning can provide a sense of conclusion. According to Bobby Marks, the $52 million left on the table is too good to reject for Jimmy. And he has reasons to back that claim. “I think there is a strong likelihood that he’s on this roster when we get past February 6th, then he picks up that 52 (million),” the NBA insider told on SiriusXM NBA Radio. “I know it’s been reported that he’s gonna decline that option and become a free agent, but when you have $52,000,000 on the table, you have to have a home to go to.”
“I know it’s been reported that [Jimmy] is going to decline that option & become a free agent—But when you have $52M on the table, you have to have a home to go to. I think it would be more likely to opt into the contract & then see where you stand as far as a trade”@BobbyMarks42 https://t.co/lau7lx6VQh pic.twitter.com/t9RfBzOyGT
