There’s been a lot of drama recently as we approach Thursday’s trade deadline. From Luka Doncic and Anthony Davis switching places at the Mavs and Lakers to KJ Martin’s trade being listed on an injury report, it’s been a blink-and-you-‘ll-miss-it trade season. Amid all this, rumors have arisen of Kevin Durant being on the move now.
And without missing a beat, a company valued at nearly $80 billion has given their two cents on the matter, adding a little brevity to the whole affair. That company is none other than DoorDash, and they’re hedging their bets on KD reuniting with Stephen Curry at the Golden State Warriors.
“Putting all my Doordash savings on KD going to Golden State by tomorrow,” read the post’s caption. They showed just how serious they were by tagging ESPN’s Shams Charania in the post. Amid the intense rumors swirling around Durant ahead of Thursday’s trade deadline, this is a bold position from DoorDash. But we’d wager our own savings in saying that they’re not being wholly serious.

The multi-billion dollar company’s social media team has been outdoing themselves recently. Just a couple of days ago, DoorDash offered to help out Jimmy Butler, given he’s “unemployed” now. “Now that you’re unemployed, let us know if you need a free DashPass subscription. The extra savings will come in handy,” they wrote.
This was a hilarious response to a video Butler posted trolling the Miami Heat. That video showed Butler’s card declining for a $107 transaction after suspension. But no one expected DoorDash to join in on the trolling. We said it before, and we’ll say it again – DoorDash’s admin on X seriously deserves a raise.
DoorDash has joined in on the Kevin Durant saga, showing just how savvy they are when dealing with the NBA. But DoorDash’s bold stance aside, where is KD headed during this trade window?
Will Kevin Durant leave the Phoenix Suns before Thursday’s deadline?
It seems a lot of suitors are vying for Kevin Durant’s signature ahead of the February 6 deadline. And the Phoenix Suns, though spoiled for choice, don’t have too long before they need to decide.
Reports suggest the likes of the Dallas Mavericks and Houston Rockets are pursuing Durant alongside his former team, the Golden State Warriors. However, NBA insiders Marc Stein and Jake Fischer poured water over those rumors. They revealed, “There was no tangible expectation percolating in Dallas, as of Tuesday night, to suggest that the Mavericks were a true factor in the Durant chase.” Disappointing for any Mavs fans who wanted to see KD and AD linking up in Texas.
But it’s not like the Mavericks’ competition is faring any better in their pursuit of Durant. Sam Amick reported the Dubs “met with an exorbitant asking price” for Durant. Furthermore, they may have to part with Draymond Green to get KD into their team. Something we don’t think the Dubs will do.

As for the Houston Rockets, well, they’ve actually built quite a solid team. And they may not want to mess with the team’s established core in getting Durant down to Houston. After all, the Suns will want a few of their stars in exchange for Durant. All in all, they’re faring about as well as their Dallas counterparts.
At the ripe age of 36, Kevin Durant is still playing better than most of the league. Any team will covet his 26.9 points per game. And the Suns downgrading him to “doubtful” for Wednesday’s game will only further these rumors. All things considered, his situation is one worth keeping an eye on. And we’ll do just that!
